While concentrating on the new chrome shapes and uphostered wooden products in the 2010 collection with the works of Derya Akdurak and his team, Megaron continues to enlarge its repertoire with the new seating unit designed by the famous Turkish designer Defne Koz, who has already proved herself in the international arena and won the 2009 Red Dot Product Design Award with Dondola for Megaron. Our company ‘s 2009 Red Dot prize winner Defne Koz ‘s new seating system for 2010, Rest, is a monobloc composite product which satisfies the lieing and service functions as well as seating. The product is an economical solution thanks to its material and production techniques. Practical for both indoors and outdoors, heavy traffic areas, Rest contributes to the space it is used with its sculptural lines. H- Series, a collection interpreted by the contemporary formal approach to the almost a century old ‘bergere ’format. The series which has been interpreted by Megaron studio includes high and low back bergeres and small armchairs / chairs which can be utilized in dining and study areas. The wooden structured, conventionally upholstered items are produced by Megaron ‘s well qualified handicraftsmanship. The oversized ‘ Cuma ‘ plantholders, suitable for indoors and outdoors, the inner linings reinforced with polyurethane, are produced with our company ‘s highly qulified composite material and labour.The series currently produced in 60 x 60 cm, 80 x 80 cm and 100 x 100 cm options will be produced in different dimensions to meet the requirements of different projects. The 2009 Red Dot winner Dondola series designed by Defne Koz for Megaron is composed of short / long benches, ottomans and rocking units which have the circular lines incorporated with perfect smoothness. The reflections generated by their shapes increase the perception of depth in these products which convey the feeling of continuity.
